Car Crashes Into White House Gate

Driver Dies in Crash at White House Gate

Second Incident Since January

WASHINGTON (AP) — A driver died Saturday night after crashing a vehicle into a gate at the White House. It was the second time since January that a motorist has crashed into a gate at the presidential residence.

The driver, whose name has not been released, was found dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred around 11:30 p.m. Saturday. The vehicle, a sedan, crashed into an outer perimeter gate on the north side of the White House, near the Eisenhower Executive Office Building.

The Secret Service is investigating the crash. No one else was injured.

Conclusion

The crash is a reminder of the security challenges facing the White House, one of the most heavily protected buildings in the world. In January, a man driving a pickup truck crashed into a security barrier near the White House and was then shot by Secret Service officers. The man, who was unarmed, was later pronounced dead.

The White House is located in a high-security zone in downtown Washington, D.C. The area is patrolled by the Secret Service and other law enforcement agencies, and there are numerous security measures in place to protect the president and other government officials.
