CONCACAF to Hold Qualifier Draws on April 21, 2023

The draws for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and FIFA Play-Off Tournament qualifiers for the CONMEBOL region will be held on December 21, 2022. The draws will determine the groups and match schedule for the first round of qualifying, which will begin in March 2023. A total of 10 teams from the CONMEBOL region will compete in the qualifiers, with the top four teams qualifying directly for the FIFA World Cup and the fifth-placed team advancing to the FIFA Play-Off Tournament.

The CONMEBOL qualifiers will be played in a single round-robin format, with each team playing two matches against each other. The top four teams will qualify for the FIFA World Cup, while the fifth-placed team will advance to the FIFA Play-Off Tournament.

The FIFA Play-Off Tournament will be held in June 2026, with the winner qualifying for the FIFA World Cup.

The CONMEBOL qualifiers are set to kick off on March 23, 2023, and will conclude on October 14, 2025.

The FIFA World Cup will be held in the United States, Mexico, and Canada from June 8 to July 6, 2026.
